Embracing Change and Finding Pleasure: A Journey of Self-Discovery

When I reached out to work with Adam Bee, I was navigating a challenging phase in my life, grappling with a depressive episode, a lack of fulfillment in my work, and wanting to explore the depths of sex/intimacy, desires, and relationships. I aimed to confront past traumas and uncover what truly brought me happiness. Adam shares their unique perspective as my coach, shedding light on our journey together and the significant challenges we tackled.

Working with Adam was an eye-opening experience. From the beginning, they noticed my willingness to experiment and take steps toward creating a more authentic life. I remember feeling energetically stuck during our first call, a common occurrence when seeking unconventional help after traditional methods haven't provided the answers we seek. Adam clarified that they trusted my ability to navigate my journey, empowering me to embrace change and take charge of my decisions.

My first assignment was to study Betty Martin's Wheel of Consent. The model explores four quadrants of touch interactions: Giving, Receiving, Allowing, and Taking. It emphasizes the importance of clear communication and consent in relationships, helping individuals navigate their desires and boundaries healthily and empowered.

One of the most significant lessons I learned from Adam was understanding why I feared rejection and establishing healthy boundaries. They encouraged me to say "no" to things that no longer served me. This process was challenging but incredibly rewarding. By creating space by saying "no," I found room to imagine, breathe, and dream, allowing me to explore my desires with newfound pleasure.

Adam's approach to helping clients envision a fulfilling life begins with identifying what fills them emotionally, physically, and energetically. Saying "no" to anything that doesn't align with our authentic selves is the first step towards making room for growth and discovery. It's okay to have only some answers at once; experimenting and playing are vital elements of the journey. After just a couple of sessions, I vividly remember how my newfound ability to say "no" significantly catalyzed a profound transformation in my life – exploring what brings me pleasure, joy, and purpose.

Adam's advice is invaluable for anyone feeling stuck or uncertain about their life path. They recommend identifying the people, places, and activities that make you feel alive and fulfilled. By gradually saying "no" to what no longer aligns with your true self, you create space for envisioning and creating the life you truly desire. Setting boundaries and maintaining energetic, emotional, and physical well-being is essential, even if it means stepping back gently from specific commitments.

One of the most significant realizations from my coaching journey with Adam is that growth is an ongoing process. Our lives are constantly evolving, and what brings joy and fulfillment today might change in the future. To continue progressing and staying committed to my goals, I learned to stay curious, keep dreaming, and embrace change with an open heart. Embracing impermanence and creating space for fluidity has allowed me to evolve gracefully in all aspects of life.

My experience with Adam has been nothing short of remarkable. Their guidance and support have empowered me to face my fears, embrace change, and find pleasure in pursuing my passions. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to work with them and for their profound positive impact on my life. As I explore new possibilities and create the life I want, I hope this interview inspires others to embark on their journeys of self-discovery and growth, reminding them that transformation is possible when we dare to say "no" and follow our hearts.
